Do You Believe in Soul Mates?
When I write my romance stories, my characters believe in soul mates. The hero is always the first to think that he has found his soul mate and then part of his journey is convincing his love interest that he is hers. Quinn knew the moment he laid eyes on Davina that she was the woman for him, and fate brought them together. Jack, very much the romantic like his father, believes he has found his soul mate after meeting her in a cafe. In Boss, Dane knows deep down inside that the mystery woman he rescued one night was the woman for him.
My heroines take longer to believe that they have met their soul mate. Why does it take them longer to trust in their feelings? Is it because they are more cautious? Realistic? Cerebral? They have to make sure of their partner and themself before they commit. After all, one should know for sure they’ve met their one and only before they commit to a happily ever after. Wouldn’t you agree?
Types of Soul Mates
A soul mate is a person you feel deeply connected to without feeling dependent on them. The relationship is based more on giving than taking from the other. I found an interesting article regarding soul mates. https://www.brides.com/what-is-a-soulmate-5097403
There are three types of soul mates that are of interest to me:
- The romantics are passionate, giving each other physical and emotional pleasure.
- The kindred agree on everything, big and small.
- The companions are friends with you in good times and bad and are always on your side.
My Soul Mate
I believe that hubby and I are soul mates. Were we destined to be together? That’s another topic for discussion. However, we have an excellent combination of romance, connection, and friendship in our relationship.
Do you believe in soul mates? Can you have more than one type? Please leave a comment below and let me know your thoughts.
